Children's Grief Camp is a FREE camp for children ages 5 - 18 years old from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 in the Student Center.

Children are often the forgotten mourners. The death of a loved one brings the need to deal with emotions and lifestyle adjustments. It is a very heavy burden.

Prairieland Hospice offers the Children’s Grief Camp to assist area youth in coping with a loved one’s death. Children from many counties across Illinois and Iowa who have experienced the death of a parent or special person are invited to join us for a one-day camp.

The students will spend the day involved in activities such as grief education and group exercises emphasizing positive coping skills. The day camp is offered both in the spring and in the fall each year.

If you know a child who has experienced the death of a significant person and would like to participate in the day camp, please call us. The camp is sponsored by the generosity of local businesses and individuals; it is offered at no charge to the participants.

There will be a special guest appearance by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus!
